ForageTech Fishing Pond Fertilizer

Forage Tech pond fertilizer is a a water soluble fertilizer formed specifically for recreational fishing ponds to increase fish production and reduce weeds. Fertilization should begin around the 1st of March and stop around the first of November. It takes approximately 50 lbs of pond fertilizer for each one surface acre of pond per year. Normally there are 11 applications per year.

The fertilizer increases the fish production by providing nutrients to the bottom of the food chain thus increasing food all the way to the top of the food chain. It decreases weeds by creating an “algae bloom” that blocks light reaching the bottom of the lake where weeds begin their growth.
